Hello, my friends. How are you doing today? I have a question for you. When you go to the grocery store to buy your cat food, what do you base your decision on? Brand? Flavor? Cost?
It can be pretty challenging to get the best deal, the best ingredients and a flavor your kitty will love.
My Review on Cat Canned Food! Which One Does Sammie Love? will help you decide which one is best for your cat!
With thousands of pet food brands claiming to be the very best. It can hard to decide which ones are healthy and nutritious and which ones are not.
Have you ever wondered what ingredients are listed on the back of the cans and what do some of those ingredients mean?
Do you ever feel like you’re reading a different language when it comes to ingredient labels? What do the words mean and who regulates them? You can find the information in a previous article I wrote here

The nice lady that gave me Sammie brought me a can of cat food and dry food that she and her grandmother had been feeding the kittens.
When I opened the can and I was like… “Eww… let’s see if she eats this!”
“I doubt she will but… o.k..” as I walked over to Sammie!
“Oh Sammie, time to eat!
Ultimately, she turned her nose up at it and walked away. I knew she would!
O.K. So… let’s see if the outside kitty loves this canned cat food.
I walked out the door…
“Here Kitty… Kitty…”I call my adopted stray cat and he wouldn’t even eat it!
However, he didn’t come to me so I left the food outside overnight in the hopes that someone would eat it thus meaning any cats that come around… no… no… not humans 🙂
And guess what? it was still there in the morning.
In addition, If you don’t have a picky cat or some strays you take care to try to get a decent brand with some good ingredients and save the junk for feral cats.
“You always get what you pay for!”
My furry kids give this canned food a “Cover that Hiss up!” ratings and I do not blame them at all!!

As a matter of fact, Friskies is what I call “junk food” for my kitty and although she usually gets a different brand she ate it all up! While I was researching for: My Review on Cat Canned Food! Which One Does Sammie Love? I was leary on what I would find and some of the brands turned out to be A-OK!
Consequently, I have to be fair and say that she does like Friskies Pate because I mix it with warm water. She absolutely loves it. Albeit, Friskies does look more appealing than the first one I reviewed.
What I don’t like about Friskies is that its first 3 ingredients are meat by-products, water, poultry by-products
Also, what I don’t like is that Friskies claims it’s “made with real chicken, to have all the essential nutrients that support the health and maintenance of an adult cat.”
Yes, that kind of junk food!
Now for what I do like about this brand is that it comes in 13 oz cans and pouches and it’s available by the case as well! Which is a plus!
Moreover, I do love that 99% of Purina cat food is made in the United States! Bravo! Paws Up! Oh yeah!!
Again, Sammie loves Friskies the way I love Big Mac’s and neither one is good for us- Sorry Sammie!
My Review on Cat Canned Food! Which One Does Sammie Love
The back story:
Meanwhile, Friskies is a well-known brand that has been around since the 1950s. Cats were becoming the country’s most popular pets at the time. Friskies wanted to jump on that bandwagon and make some cat food. The company was initially introduced by the Carnation Company in 1930s as a dog food brand. Friskies cat food was introduced in the 1950s, it was the first dry pet food product for cats.
“By 1973, Friskies was one of five companies that controlled two-thirds of the $1.75 billion pet food market,” the brand was bought by Nestlé in 1985. for more interesting facts visit here.
This leads me to the conclusion that I would expect more from such a well-known brand and the quality doesn’t back up the name!
What do you think?
My kids (cats) give it a “wonderful” meowz rating!
My Review on Cat Canned Food: The Best Brand So Far
And now for the cat canned food that Sammie loves the most and I bet your fur baby will love it too is…
Turkey and Tote’s New Pate! by Weruva Woot! Woot! Yay!

Weight: (12) 3.0 oz. Pouch
Cat rating: Purrfect (purr)

This product is Tuna based, BPA, grain, gluten & carrageenan FREE and their food recipes are formulated to meet nutritional levels established by the AAFCO!<— see what I mean?
My daughter gave me a small box of this brand for Sammie because her senior cat, Violet (may she rest in peace) didn’t like it at all. And I needed to buy some more for Sammie because she loves it! She purrs and purrs for this pawsomely wonderful food!
What I don’t like is that it comes in a pouch. I can’t get all of the food out of the pouch unless I cut it open and scrape it.
And that isn’t going to happen! Who wants to do that?
I do like that this product comes in cans and pouches! I will get the cans next time so that none of it will go to waste.
How is Weruva Different than Other Brands?
The Weruva family lives through the code of conduct: Awesome Happy, Awesome Health.

This cat food is made in a human food facility using ingredients and processes used in human food products. This is awesome! Paws up!
